203 Pages of History and Photographs

Sally Dammery writes graphically of the life of her strong-minded and independent grandmother Isobel Horner who lived in Launceston a century ago.

From very sad beginnings and a difficult nursing career she progressed to her own private hospital called "Waratah", which she later converted to an exclusive guest house at 12 York Street.

This book gives a wonderful social history of life in Launceston during those years. The many historic pictures also reveal a life very different from today.
